The Department of Geology, University of Peshawar, organized a three day Second Pakistan Geological Conference from 2nd to 4th September, 1990, at the Bara Gali Summer Campus of the University of Peshawar. More than 250 geoscientists from Pakistan and abroad participated. Considering the fact that northern Pakistan has a very complex geologic history, the Congress provided an excellent opportunity for geoscientists to discuss various aspects of the geology of Pakistan.
